    I do believe that it was a merger, not a take over hence the name Daimler Chrysler.

    Mercedes is only one of the stable, just like Dodge, Chrysler, Jeep and Mitsubishi and of course Smart.

    Imho, as a Jeep owner as well, the quality control got worse post merger with DC. Not that it was brilliant to start with!

        I noticed the other day when the sun shone on my rear window that there was a merc sign didnt even realise...is this a standard thing?

            Careful ripping stickers off rear windows, specifically if the printed on heater elements.

                        er... not sure how a reply was possible... we're supposed to have auto thread locking on threads over 1 year old
