  • Door Cable

    Evening All,

Sorry I havent posted for a while.

Does anyone know the part number for the Door Cable on the forfour or where i can get one?

My drivers side door only opens from the inside :censor:

I have tried looking on ebay for the part and had no joy.

Has anyone else tried fitting this them selves?

    Cheers

    Re: Door Cable

here you go young man............hope the guide helps too.....!!

    1. New cable, part no: A454 723 01 69 which costs a total of £4.60. 11" long with outer sheath of length 7"
The inner cable has L shaped end (lock) that engages into a rectangular hole in a rotating part of the lock.
from lock end there is a round ball which, together with a T shape end, connect with the door handle

    2. Access gained through small plastic plate on door shut;

    3. Behind this panel is a T30 Torx screw. Remove this and then slide the door handle

    4. Remove 3 x T30 Torx screws that hold the door lock in position.

    5. The cable passes through an inner gap in the door.

    6. To avoid further cable damage, run oil down the cable sheath before install

Door panel removal not needed as Smart/Mercedes use this way.

    PM me for more info!!

Thats amazing thank you so much!

Just one further quick question could you expan on the small plastic plate on door shut;?

Do you mean the door has to be shut or the inside of the door? i have just had a look and can see 3 torx screws around the lock and then further up is a black plastic cap type thing is this what you mean.

Sorry for sounding like a numpty haha

Hi 😃 once the cable has been passed through the gap, how do you attach it to the latch? Cheers

its easier if you pull the top of the outer door panel off, that way you can see what your doing clearly and have more room. the cable backs on to itself if i remember correctly when i did my passenger one.
