using wickes flashing tape as a 1/5 cost option over dynomat!!

              remove everything from the boot...

put in place and seam roller it all down...

and do the sides/arches if necessary...

              All for £10

I really doubt flashing tape is as effective as proper sound deadening and insulation. Cheaper definitely

why? because it doesn't say it on the packaging

                  Dynomat =
The thin butyl rubber layer is bonded to an aluminium alloy.
                  Flashing tape =
A polypropylene film with a butyl rubber adhesive backing.
                  so yeah - totally different

it works by adding damping to panels using the rubber/butyl and not by soundproofing in the literal sense.

its a red dwarf situation (tension sheet) where you brand something basic as something else and quadruple the price

                  hahaha!!

Yep true if you make it double thickness it will do the same job as the really expensive stuff even just one layer would do quite a bit. Its cheaper than the real stuff and does the same job. Its just someone badged it for automotive purposes and thought hey hang on we have a product that is now for cars and mugs will pay 4 times the price for it for their cars... so hike the price!

Now if only I could find it here....
