  • Door pull magnetic fitment.

I have to dismantle my nearside door on 2000 smart passion cabriolet and noticed that on the internal door pull the top fitment seems to be some sort of shiny rivet ? that appears to be magnetic whereas the lower one is a screw. Is there a way of getting the upper one off without damaging the fitment .

The inner door pull is attached top & bottom using Torq screws.
All I can imagine is is someone has dropped a small magnet into the hole at some point.

Thanks Mr T. Odd that have looked at the links and see what you mean. Will have to investigate further as definitely looks as if the shiny bolt [ rivet ] goes right through and in to the fitment bracket onto the middle rail clip. Will keep you posted. Thanks again.

Hi Mr T. Well I had a look and oddly there was a very small magnet in the aperture on top of the screw fitting. Probably there for a reason but not sure why. Thanks again. mick

Probably off a child's toy or something? Glad you got to the bottom of it.
