  • does the fuel tank separate from the filler tubes easily??

QUESTION; does the fuel tank separate from the filler tubes easily, I have limited room and I am trying to fix a hole in the bottom of the tank......i can see there is a reinforced joint at the bottom of the filler tube, and I just wondered if they come apart easily, or not....Thanks in advance

It is likely I won't have access here for a while

Fuel tank and filler neck are one piece and they do not separate unless you cut with a saw or something.

looks like it is on the club smart car site Which if you haven't looked is another good resource pool.

I removed fuel tank when I completed life extension of my 2002 Smart 450 Cabrio.

I had the smart sitting high on blocks and axle stands.
Removed rear subframe complete with engine and transmission first. Then removed tank.
