  • Fireing order?

Anybody knows the fireing order for the 1 litre engine?

1-2-3 or 3-2-1 but which I have no idea. If you are working on the car the quickest way to figure it will be to pull the plugs and detect which cylinder next has a compression stroke after cylinder number one's by turning the engine over by hand.

Don't You need to also check that the valves are closed?

        No compression with open valves...

Why do you need firing order? There is no practical use of it.

They had a Smart at work for experiments with pressed and sintered gears. For some reason they wanted to do something more to the engine, maybe a pressed and sintered crank shaft?
