  • 451 with Roadster Brabus wheels, Advice.

I'm considering getting an ultimate body kit and fitting 17" Roadster Brabus wheels to fill the arches. (See attached pic)

Does anyone have any experience running these wheels on a 451?

Do they rub? Does it mess up the drive? Etc

I will be running Gaz coilovers with approx 20mm drop.

dont bother with brabus wheels... they are soft as a soft thing!

i have a set on my forfour and pretty much all 4 wheels are bucked to some degree

Are they any softer than the standard 451 brabus wheels?

The wider they are the more prone they are to inside edge buckle age.

I had the widestar kit on a previous smart with the widearse arches... and those rims were utter cheese on the inside rim... there's no support so far out so they suffer quickly. (Think they were 7J 16inch?)

I'm finding it hard enough dodging pot holes with the standard 451 brabus rims, plus I'm constantly surrounded by speed humps.
Plus with the stiffer suspension, I think the wheels will take more of a beating.

I think I will give the roadster wheels a miss.

Agreed with the above - having a Roadster with those wheels, I have to get them re-rounded at least once a year.
I had mine done in September and 2 months later one of the rears is flatted in 3 places and the other in 1 place.

Unfortunately with these wheels - this sort of damage is all too common:

My next option is putting 451 brabus rear wheels on the front.
So they will be 7.5j 17" all round.

Will the front rub with a 20mm drop?

              thanks
