Re: Miss Fire makes short irregular visits!

    Njae,,,
The part that feels like misfire comes and goes and that could be because of outside conditions warm or cold weather and different moisture levels. The bump that appears when going off throttle is always there. That will be my reference after changing the cam.

The bump when going off throttle? sounds more like engine mounts to me? rather than anything cam related.

Well then it is a blessing that I have just changed the engine mount on a recommendation from an expert at Smarttimes!
So now I have 2 fully operational front engine mounts in the garage!

Did they highlight them on the cars inspection there?

No I talked to Rob at S2smarts.
It is not a bumb that You can hear it is mor like if You take the foot away from the throttle and put it back on.
I think this Sunday will be to put the new steering wheel on The Golden Hornet and the Saturday will be a little busy.
So earlyest in a week I will be able to change cam.

New (old 45kw) camshaft in Lilla Svarten now.
                  Now I have a 60kw engine with 45kw injectors, 45kw turbo and 45kw camshaft.
Is there any other difference or do I now have a 45kw engine with oil cooler?
Tomorrow I will go searching for Miss Fire!

This strange missfire/flickering of the throttle is still there. Once this time on the way to work (120km/h on the motorway).
I think I will just have to make friends with Miss Fire.

Maybe the fuel is knocking/pinking and the ECU is not quite catching it?

Re: Miss Fire makes short irregular visits!

The fuel when compressed to much can pre detonate before the sparkplug fires, the ECU will manage this with the Knock sensor detecting the pre ignition and adjustment of the timing.

Thing is I thought you used a high ethanol mix? which was better for this? or maybe I have it backwards???

It certainly is an odd random fault.

Also I thought you had logged electrical ignition issues in the error log previously?

Maybe run it on straight 97/98 RON fuel for a few tanks and see if the problem is still there?

I think You are on to something there!
I am running the Lilla Svarten on 95 ron. It is the Golden Hornet that runs on E85 (witch is just over 100 ron).
The Golden Hornet had the odd flicker of the throttle when it was running on 95 ron but is totally symptom free when running on E85.
I will when time permits test to run Lilla Svarten on 30-40% Ethanol. I cant go to high in ethanol mixture because it does not have any device to enrich the mixture and then it would run to lean on pure E85.

I have logged for error codes several times. Nothing found!

                              Sorry about the delay.
I did not write here about the final outcome.
It was all down to a broken ABS-ring!
