  • What sort of switch is the ESP disable ?

    Hello,

Can one of your Roadster owners do me a favour and tell me what sort of switch the ESP disable button is ? Is it a press and it stay pressed sort ? (where if you press it and turn the engine off the ESP is still disabled when you turn back on again? ) Or a momentary type switch which just toggles on/off and does not remember when the car is turned off then on ?

I'm looking to find a suitable button to fit to my 450 :-)

    Thanks!

    Mark

    It is the second alternative!
If You turn the ESP off and then turn the engine of and back on the ESP will not stay off.

      It's a momentary switch.

IIRC the momentary switch generates a pulse to the SAM which iniates the disabling of the ESP.

MB are anally retentive when it comes to safety and I presume thats why the software would automatically
're-engage' the ESP when you switch off the engine.

The switch just grounds a transistor in the SAM causing it to switch.
