Changing the CPS would eliminate it as a suspect at the least, possibly cure it. They are a PITA and if they disintegrate during removal bits end up in the bellhousing and the gearbox has to be separated from the engine to retrieve them. Or. it might just slide right out first attempt....

So just heard from the lovely Mercedes people....
A few fault codes showing (none of which registered with the fault code read I bought....). Their opinion - it might be the SAM.
Not the cheapest of replacement parts (although there is one in stock!)... So decisions decisions....
