Headlight growling

Hi all
My drivers side headlight on my 2006 fortwo growls at me when I put it on, does the front panel come off to investigate ?

Sounds like the headlight adjusters have packed up, headlight will have to come out. That is easier to do with the front cowl off.

Can you get the adjusters separately or do you have to buy the whole headlight unit ?

I've had mine growl because they got damp. Drying them cured them.
Probably only available with complete headlight but if you can get a part number off of yours maybe a Google search will unearth something. IIRC, complete headlights aren't absurdly priced - but maybe not from MB/smart dealers. That said, the main dealer's prices for other parts are usually reasonable and with a better chance of a quality part being supplied.
