  • Not starting

    Hi everyone, new member here

I’ve got a Smart Fortwo passion diesel auto and I’m having a big problem
It decided it didn’t want to start anymore, turns over but not starting. Had fuel filter changed, glow plugs checked, new battery, and high pressure fuel pump changed but still not working. Injectors aren’t getting enough fuel through. Mechanic now thinks it’s to do with the immobiliser telling the car not to start. Tried both keys.
Anyone had this problem or got any advise, I’m at my wits end with it
    Thank you
    Sarah

These car are prone to their alternator seizing up if sat for weeks. Engine will then not spin sufficiently fast to start. Alternator can be freed by applying good elbow grease.

Has your mechanic read the ecu for error codes?
Also try a battery disconnect, I know it sounds funny but this has cured all sorts of faults!
      Good luck.
