You may be experiencing some wider DNS issues that have been happening over the last week or so, I blame wikigeeks

All the other sites I troll on work as they should

The random site doesn't come up on specific links but mainly when I'm navigating back to the front screen (highlights new posts and split between car and general chat)

The slowness is on everything but I am using 3G

No problems at this end. All checks out fine. Are you sure you haven't overloaded your PC with too much forfour?

Oh - And I also keep getting the vBulletin message saying "the server is too busy at the moment. Please try again later"

And then when I try to go back, I get te www.pingex.com page...

Well it seems a little quicker than it was yesterday on my wifi so I'll keep monitoring it...

The site has been back up to normal running speed (for me) for the last few days but it's gone slow again and I now get redirected to SolidEUhosting every now and then or get the manaics "server busy - try again" notification.

It's probably just my over use of the site wearing it down
