  • Regards new virus

SENT TO ME BY MY COUSIN IN LONGLEVENS , GLOS .

PLEASE CIRCULATE THIS NOTICE TO YOUR FRIENDS AND FAMILY ON YOUR CONTACT LIST.

In the coming days, you should be aware…

Do not open any message with an attachment called:"Invitation FACEBOOK", regardless of who sent it.
It is a virus that opens an Olympic torch that burns the whole hard disc C of your computer. This virus will be received from someone you had in your address book.
That's why you should send this message to all your contacts. It is better to receive this email 25 times than to receive the virus and open it.
If you receive E-MAIL called: "Invitation FACEBOOK", though sent by a friend, do not open it and delete it immediately. CNN said it is a new virus discovered recently and that has been classified by Microsoft as the most destructive virus ever.
It is a Trojan Horse that asks you to install an adobe flash plug-in. Once you install it, it's all over. And there is no repair yet for this kind of virus. This virus simply destroys the Zero Sector of the Hard Disc, where the vital information of their function is saved.

      Re: Regards new virus

Yet again you spread nonsense oldgit!

You are not doing anyone any favours by "warning" people of this s***.
These things are very easy to check.

Warning about the Invitation/Olympic Torch computer virus that 'burns the whole hard disc C of your computer.'

Blindly forwarding on hoaxes is what keeps them going.

            Re: Regards new virus

No, they think they are helping their friends by passing on unnecessary chaos to other people's lives.
I have never, repeat NEVER received an email warning of a scam that was real in the past 12 years.

All I suggest is you do what I have done here. Berate the person who has spread it so they think twice about doing it again.

Come on, he was only trying to help people.
I know people who aren't it savvy who are responsible and would want to pass on warnings like this.
Of course it's a hoax but if you hadn't seen it before you'd be none the wiser too.
Don't ridicule, just hit the delete button!
