Isn't the Chrysler actually a Lancia elsewhere in Europe - if so, why oh why was it badged as an American car for the UK market?

I thought like the MiTo, Corsa, Lancia and Chrysler all use the grande punto floorplan................. fiat modular chassis vision

The ypsilon is based on a lengthened 500/panda chassis. The delta on the bravo chassis.

Reason behind it being branded a Chrysler rather than Lancia is that the powers that be in fiat decided that Chrysler has a better rep in the uk than Lancia does. Fiat now on a large majority in chrysler which is another reason.
