Thought I'd seen it all!

Seeing drivers using their mobile phones while driving really infuriates me but I've just seen a young female driver who takes multi-tasking too far!

I was just pulling up outside my partner's house when this young woman came past in the opposite direction in her little Corsa merrily chatting away on her mobile phone, then, to my utter amazement she took a drag of the cigarette she was holding in her other hand!!!

Before anybody says it - No! - it was a normal right hand drive car - not lhd

Probably had a "Baby on Board" sticker in the back window too but I didn't notice that!

Unfortunately I've seen that before. There was a woman who had her phone wedged under her ear whilst trying to open a sandwich coming down the slip road onto the M6 last night. You're driving a tonne weight killing machine FFS!

Every time I see it in Dundee, whether in the Smart or on my motorbike, I always make a point in bringing it to their attention. Most times they put the phone down straightaway, others just tell me to F-off, my hope is that a passing police car will see it and do something about it.

lighting and smoking ciggies when driving is definitely a bad thing

i have seen people driving doing the following...

reading a book
reading a map
putting on makeup
head turned 90degs constantly to talk to the person in the passenger seat
head turned 150degs constantly to talk to the child in the back seat
people leaning across to get stuff out of the glove box

etc etc

One male equivalent is shaving while on the mobile phone ( not using hands free blue tooth ) .

Luckily I've only seen it while waiting for lights ...

as the child with 2 "40 a day" parents and travelling in cars with them for at least 12 years of memorable travel (i apologise for not remembering my toddler years) and seeing dropped ciggies, various different forms of lighting ciggies including ciggie on ciggie, car lighter, zippo providing naked flame 2" from face, dropped ciggies, ciggies stubbed against non open window, ciggies flicked out of front window and come back in rear window and many of these regularly causing swerving and moments of concentration loss.

as i have said to you before, the attention you pay to me is flattering but you really aren't my type sorry!

As for me following you JJ - get a grip on your meglomania. I'm merely correcting you before the non smokers start believing this twaddle and impose even more draconian restrictions upon smokers than exist already. Some of us value freedom. Never forget, that when the legislators have outlawed what you don't like, they will then set about outlawing what you do like. Moan about a nanny state, but your rantings create it.

and an overprotective smoker to boot. costing the NHS billions and even though they put the price up to crazy prices to try and eradication this vile and poisonous addictive drug, and put pictures on how these small stick destroy your internal organs, the smokers keep paying and dragging away in the outcast world that is their bus shelter like a mini glass encased leper colony.

yes, you are an adult (most of the time) and can kill yourself as quickly or as painfully as you want but to be ruled over by a little white and orange stick - bless

correcting me - no. anything that detracts from driving is surely bad??? no??? maybe i should invent the self igniting ciggie - off to the patents office!! if you crash while lighting up - good luck in prison. ciggies are legal tender there!!

Plain wrong. Taxes raised from smokers pay for the entire NHS. Without smokers, non-smokers would be dying in the gutter.

apologies, it was just an observation like your observation about my parents.

smokers do cost the NHS about £5bn (fact) but i never mentioned their contribution to it.

if there was no smoking they would tax something like crisps to combat obesity

but if they told me crisps were covered in 4,000 chemicals, including 43 known cancer-causing (carcinogenic) compounds and 400 other toxins, including tar, formaldehyde, ammonia, hydrogen cyanide, arsenic, and DDT then there is NO BLOODY WAY i would keep eating them!! haha!! even if they are worcestershire sauce flavoured ones - although gary lineker is bloody charismatic
