  • Illegall to sell

how daft can the laws be , this car is made in canada , but its illegal to sell
or use it on the roads of canada .

Did you Know that the ZENN car (Zero Emissions No Noise) is made in Quebec.
    Cost approx $12,000.
Plug it in like a toaster, and is illegal to sell in Canada (except in B.C.)

Production of the Zenn seized early 2010 due to slow sales.

There are several "neighbourhood" EVs that originated in Canada. No Canadian jurisdictions have an LSV (low speed vehicle) class permitted on the roads, except in British Columbia, as noted above, where top speed and side street restrictions apply - forbidden on roadways where the posted speed limit is above 60km/h (IIRC) for example.

Vehicles of this class are typically sold into the US, for use in large commercial campuses (private property) and on large wall-ringed communities. One or more Canadian manufacturers have moved production to the US for this reason. Also because the climate in Canada makes them useless for 6 months of the year!
