  • Aston Martin Cygnet. RIP.

They wanted to sell 4000 a year in 3 years, they sold less than 150. It's dead now.

Aston Martin's most embarrassing production car ever is no more, as the British brand has finally admitted defeat ceasing production of its

It was grossly over priced. Shame, it was a nice looking rehash of the IQ. Hopefully the price will come down and I'll get one.

Shame. I saw one in Penarth the other night. Looks much better than the Toyota iQ.

Less idiots about with money to burn than they thought obviously, they probably thought if smart can do it by putting some bling on a car and calling it a Brabus........

Yeah, but if it was based on the Roadster things may have been different!

Very nice cars but way overpriced, if it was around the £18k mark they would have shifted quicker

There are couple of them in Edinburgh. It was a good idea in principal, just poorly executed. It needed to be more than a new nose and nicer trimmed interior. It should've been tuned up, new suspension etc. At least Brabus do that to the standard smart

At the end of the day it was a Toyota (the company that when ripping Smart off couldn't be less blatant than calling it 'IQ'), It's a Toyota whatever they called it and whatever grille they put on it, even idiot mega rich boutique shoppers realised that.

                      Cheers!

Did the endeavour - however limited the sales were - contribute to Aston Martin's corporate fuel economy average thus allowing them to sell the thirsty V8 and V12 models on which they should have made a profit (but somehow failed to)?

The iQ should not be far behind, it is selling so poorly worldwide, it's truly pathetic.

Unless smart pull something special out of the bag with the next model I don't exactly see it flying off the shelves!

Agree with madDan. The release of the next fortwo/forfour will make or break smart. If they do well I think we'll see a new Roadster.
However, I'm guessing the new fortwo will be a disappointment, constrained by boundaries and restricted by conservative design.
