They need to be close to the fourstars concept I think that design is very nice and daring, a roadster is a must IMO

Agree with madDan. The release of the next fortwo/forfour will make or break smart. If they do well I think we'll see a new Roadster.
However, I'm guessing the new fortwo will be a disappointment, constrained by boundaries and restricted by conservative design.

Sadly, I completely agree on this, I think the future is bleak.

Roadster isn't going to happen.
Smart have said so out loud.
Meantimes VW are proposing a version of their carbonfibre 2-seater XL1 with a Ducati engine making 187hp.

And Toyota deny the IQ is being withdrawn.....
Autocar site the real reason for AM dropping the Cygnet is Ford's new corporate nose - as applied to the Fiesta.
Ford maintain that they have the right to the AMish front as they paid for it while they owned AM.
Anyway, AM have a tie-in now with MB so ditching Toyota was probably a prerequisite - in the same way MacLaren quit the run of BMW engined F1s when they signed to a different engine supplier for their Formula 1 project back in the day.
