    1. Correct - but it will go up incrementally and not to their max bid immediately, when person 2 bids, it will jump up to just over the maximum of one of the bids (whichever was the lower).

    2. This is a dodgy one, as technically you are committed to selling it, but in reality yes, you can "end early" for any period of time up to the last day... if it is within 24 hours then you cannot end early and you take your sale on the chin.

    In retrospect, I suppose "supercalafragalisticexpialadocious" wasn't a great "safe word..."

      Essentially then, if the auction runs for full duration, I set the reserve price when I set the starting price? Correct?

        Yes, that's correct... but I think you have to pay for a reserve (10p or something like that).
        Failing that, just set your start price at the minimum you are prepared to accept - if you get a bid, great, if not, well you didn't want it going for less anyway. (this is what I do).
