Well, if it's done properly, it would make a great little car. We all mod our so called "city" cars, this is just the next level. The Busa engine has loads of low end power as it is. Having driven and ridden one, you can drive them sedately around town and just knock it down two gears for a spurt.

At the end of the day, some people like bolting on neons or big wheels, some think outside of the box.

No news on the MR2 hill climber, wheelie bars was just a rumour, I guess the team are preping for the new season. He did say he'd contact me to pop along for some filming?

If you're out there, PM me.

You had better get proficient at changing the clutch then because the bike clutch isn't designed to pull the weight of a car. That's why all the other companies gave up on the projects, good on a straightish track, good for donuts and drag racing but not much else.

You're forgetting up-rated springs and friction plates readily available for race and drag bikes. Not a lot of money.

The clutches in the Hayabusa powered Westfields, Tigers etc last plenty. With the lower gear ratio and electronic shifters the clutch is only used to pull away :-)

The rear subframe is out now all and drawings are being made and parts are being selected. I'm also looking into a rear disc brake conversion for the Smart Fortwo, are these available from other aftermarket outlets?

I don't think turning up in my Mini Cooper-S will really keep up with the Smart Car spirit lol.

                          Update

Due to the snowing weather down here the in the south-east the welding equipment is taking a little longer than expected to arrive

I'm sure it'll be here soon though

I've got a MIG you can borrow, but the gas and wire have run out.

                                Thanks 6Foot and Big,

                                Update

Material has arrived, but i fear i may have ordered too much lol! 18 meters of mild steel tubing seems enough for two or three frames but i'll soon see.

Welding gear should be with me tommorow
