    Re: The Project Begins

Well, if it's done properly, it would make a great little car. We all mod our so called "city" cars, this is just the next level. The Busa engine has loads of low end power as it is. Having driven and ridden one, you can drive them sedately around town and just knock it down two gears for a spurt.

At the end of the day, some people like bolting on neons or big wheels, some think outside of the box.

The aim is to make it a fast but driveable car. The dream is to have a car that i can drive to a track, suprise a few people and drive it back again after a few hours on the track is what we're after.

No turbo then? You should check out www.smartdragster.de for big power and some huge german knockers!
No turbo straight away, i think the first task is to get everything up and running in a reliable way then maybe think about a turbo a year after completion

That's why the Toyota 2.0L one works, simple huge engine, 160+bhp, five speed box and all the torque you need. (oh and wheelie bars!)

depends on the power band of the engine
bit like comparing a piston engine to a wankel

I hear the only trouble with bike engines in smarts is that you have to rev the nuts off them to make them move anywhere.
