In retrospect, I suppose "supercalafragalisticexpialadocious" wasn't a great "safe word..."
It is a Thule 594XT Sidearm roof carrier mounted transversely on custom made bars that screw into rear accessory mounts. Those custom made bars are only available from 4smartcar.com and the Thule roof carrier is only available in America. Unsuitable for a Smart 450 as the rear towing/ accessory mounts are too week in bending and fatigue.
Police told me I need a lighting board to drive legally on roads if the bike conceals rear lights and number plate.
Cheapest way to carry bikes is by fitting a tow bar and get one of those bike carriers that attach to the tow ball. Here is mine, only cost 9 Pounds new and carries two bikes with ease:
Bike is not level due to the low diamond frame. A lighting board complete with cable and plug does not cost a lot, I've seen one for around 12 pounds from a good garage in Banchory.
