Central Locking problems

We know that our car needs a new Central Locking unit, BUT we now find it won't start and it is bringing up a key symbol on the dash.
As anyone any ideas as to how we can start it to get it to the dealer for repair.

Presumably the key you have is out of synch and you don't have the second key?
In which case the only option is trailer it to dealer AFAIK - unless you know of someone who has the required kit and is mobile and thus able and willing to travel to you.

Unless this issue is related to the CL unit issue in which case someone here will have knowledge that will be of help to you.

At your risk, you could try this (it has worked for some).....

1 Disconnect battery both terminals
2 hold the ends of the +ve & -ve wires together for 10 secs (don't let either touch the battery terminals)
3 reconnect both terminals to the battery.
4 try key again - it might now work.
