Anybody else get any flashes & waves from fellow smartys

Had my fortwo 450 for a couple of months now. Doing little jobs as I go. Gave the "bubble" a smashing polish and decided to give it a blast with the mrs around the block.

Well, we ended up in Southport, from Bolton. A slightly larger than large block we drove round. Lol.

Anyway, we were cruising down the a59 towards Southport from Preston when we saw a fellow smarty coming the opposite way. What happened next set the mrs off on a concave of laughs. We got our first flash AND a wave from a pleasant girl and I presume her fella. How nice. That's what we should have a lot more of.

Anybody else get any "in the same club" waves or acknowledgements?

Yes, many from 450 owners and we seem to have converted a few local 451 owners to the practice too after a few flashes!

i wave at fortwos and roadsters when i'm in my forfour brab but for some reason i don't get a wave back!

I like that, makes me feel part of something special! Always did when I had an MGB, and will wave to other Roadster drivers but not sure other Smart drivers feel the same, as most are just commuters or shoppers around Tun Wells, not enthusiasts.

When I'm in the Roadster - I get acknowledged by *most* (not all) other Roadster owners and on rare occasions from the odd 450 or 454 owner. I don't think I have ever had any form of acknowledgement from a 451 owner.

When I'm in the 450 I get the occasional 450 owner nod/wave/flash (from about 1 in 5 other 450s - although every other numeric owner will wave/grin & flash!). And on incredibly rare occasions a 451 owner *might* acknowledge you.

When I first bought a smart - pretty much every other smart owner (irrespective of which model they had) waved & flashed at you.

I do at all smarts apart from the forfour, had a zero response rate so gave up. Everyone else gets it, whether they like it or not. There's a miserable woman in a Mk6 Cabby down the road, I've been on a 5 year mission to get a wave back, she must hate me

you have been on a 5 year mission to convert a MK6 driver yet you have given up on forfour drivers?
why dont you carry on trying to convert forfour drivers aswell?

Noo! This is old blightly, it's mathematics with an 's'.

Waved at my first Roadster yesterday & got a cheery wave back, which was nice.

It varies some do some don't some flick the V's

The routes I generally travel have actually had a depletion in numbers of smarts of all kinds

I tend to be the instigator I can't remember the last time someone flashed or waved first.
