I've had some waves returned from fortwo drivers - they seem either genuinely delighted or oblivious, the oblivous ones being the non wavers.
I have been waved at once ( a woman in a 451 on the A96) and it really is a pleasant thing to behold.
And utterly ignored by every Roadster driver. Clearly a 450 isn't good enough in their eyes. (The Porsche driving hordes (oil rich (in places) Aberdeen) presumably regard Roadster drivers with the same disdain - which is some recompense).
Never had the urge to wave to, or been waved to from, a forfour. There's so few of them anyway - outnumbered by VW Golfs by a factor of about a million or so - all of them in sh!t boring silver.

I get waves and flashes from Roadsters when I am in my Roadster and from nobody when I am in my 450.

To be fair, I don't wave to 450/451's when I'm in my Roadster as they always look at me like I'm crazy!

so what your saying is a fortwo who hasnt waved at you for 5 years is 'easier' to convert over a forfour which hasnt waved. or is it a case of there have been more versions of the fortwo than the forfour or roadster?

It varies some do some don't some flick the V's

The routes I generally travel have actually had a depletion in numbers of smarts of all kinds

I tend to be the instigator I can't remember the last time someone flashed or waved first.

Waved at my first Roadster yesterday & got a cheery wave back, which was nice.

why dont you carry on trying to convert forfour drivers aswell?

I do at all smarts apart from the forfour, had a zero response rate so gave up. Everyone else gets it, whether they like it or not. There's a miserable woman in a Mk6 Cabby down the road, I've been on a 5 year mission to get a wave back, she must hate me

i wave at fortwos and roadsters when i'm in my forfour brab but for some reason i don't get a wave back!

When I'm in the Roadster - I get acknowledged by *most* (not all) other Roadster owners and on rare occasions from the odd 450 or 454 owner. I don't think I have ever had any form of acknowledgement from a 451 owner.

When I'm in the 450 I get the occasional 450 owner nod/wave/flash (from about 1 in 5 other 450s - although every other numeric owner will wave/grin & flash!). And on incredibly rare occasions a 451 owner *might* acknowledge you.

When I first bought a smart - pretty much every other smart owner (irrespective of which model they had) waved & flashed at you.

I like that, makes me feel part of something special! Always did when I had an MGB, and will wave to other Roadster drivers but not sure other Smart drivers feel the same, as most are just commuters or shoppers around Tun Wells, not enthusiasts.
