  • Vinyl decal company - recommendations please

    Hi all

I'm looking to get some vinyl decals printed / cut for the rear window of my 451. These are my requirements:

    - Preferably made from perforated vinyl (lots of little holes in it) so I can still see through it from inside the car
    - Single sticker (this might be problematic as the back window has compound curves?)
    - Black background
    - White text / logo
    - Preferably a company that can provide me with a template for the back window of a smart to make sure the design I provide them with will look right on the car!

Any ideas / suggestions are much appreciated!

    Many thanks,

    David

Loads on the net. They will print whatever you want - text through to full high quality images.

You should have no issues applying the vinyl.

Disconnect wiper or you will wear out the pattern.

Have it made in self cling perforated vinyl and put on the inside, no wear and tear issues then

        Thanks for the feedback guys

My only concern about having it on the inside is all the heating elements will be visible in front of the design. Also I imagine the design will be more visible and there will be less glare if it sits in front of, rather than behind the layer of glass.

You have a point on reducing the wear issues though!

The only reason I asked for recommendations is if there were companies people have used before and produce known good quality output.

        Many thanks

        David

Put a full tinting film on the inside, heating elements are barely visible and you have full vision and black background, then use white lettering from any vinyl company on the outside. I wouldn't worry too much about the wiper, good stuff is tough. This method would mean the curves are no problem, you don't have the perforated look and it's cheaper.

          Cheers!

That's a great idea, I hadn't thought of that! In fact my current design has a semi-transparent black background (rather than pure black) and it does look good.

I will have a look around for a tinting company - any advice / recommendations gratefully received as always! There's nothing more ugly than cheap quality tinting products - I've seen some which would have looked better if they'd sticky-taped a bin bag across the back window!

            Many thanks,

            David

I used to own a classic mini and on the forum we used there's a guy who runs his own business doing stickers and vinyl's
and I can honestly say from past experience he's brilliant
reasonably priced and just tell him what your looking for and he will tell you if its possible or not
