im looking for a complete system to allow me to control/change all modules of my 451. what should i be looking for and any links please?
my vcds system has saved me loads so would like to get something the same for my smart.

Ideally an MB-Star system (laptop, multiplexer,cables and software), these are very expensive although Chinese knockoffs are available if you do a quick e-bay search. There may be some legality issues with these, I don't think MB are happy that their propriety software is being ripped off, I think there was a thread about it.

Be VERY careful with what you buy.
There is a business in the UK that is being "chased" by MB for their "star" system as they bought it from a third party, and that third party has already been sued by MB !

im not a garage just a home mechanic. I have obdII but want to do more then that.

I contacted them and they don't have their system ready to work with the smart range yet, they did say they'd cont me when it would work with smarts (specifically the roadster in my enquirey)

So who knows maybe another option will be available in the not to distant future.

If in doubt, buy from eBay, use it for personal stuff only and don't make any money using it.
