The front suspension on my daily driver got overhauled today, it required 4 wishbone bushes (3 were shot), 4 ball joints (2 were fairly worn but I changed all 4), 2 anti roll bar bushings, 1 wheel bearing, 2 droplinks (both knocking), 1 strut, discs, pads and brake fluid.
The strut bearings were okay, 1 spring looks like it may require replacing soon as it's corroding.
The car only has 63k on it but I think that Herefordshires appalling roads had a lot to do with the wear and also the slightly bent strut!
The brake pads had worn unevenly as a result of the calipers not floating correctly leading to the outboard ones being about 6-7mm thicker than the almost non existent inboards. Interestingly the audible wear indicators had both rusted away long before they could come into play.
I got all the parts from the dealer except the brakes and the strut as I already had a spare.
It has certainly transformed the ride quality, lol.
cheers!
