  • A-Class engine in a smart

I seem to recall on this forum a thread (and photo) of a Roadster fitted with an engine and transmission from a Mercedes A-Class. Searched (Google) but all I could find was a thread from 2006 that mentioned the A-Class engine then for three pages gorged on the notion of a Mazda rotary neglecting to mention which of the six gears they'd prefer to be stuck in indefinitely...
Can anyone remember the (later) piece relating to the MB unit or have anymore info, links, etc to it?
    TIA.

Can't say I have ever heard of an A class engine in a Roadster.

Citroen C3, Mini Cooper and Toyota Glanza (plus the usual Hyabusa) engines are the only ones I have seen in a Roadster - in the UK at least - maybe an A class has been done overseas?

And there was an MR2 engine in a 450 (Froglet).

Definitely there was a pic posted here of a Roadster with an A-Class unit. Academic now as I'd only be interested if it was possible with two-pedal operation and the Semi-Automatic has an H-pattern gate (nightmare linkage) and the full auto is CAN-BUS controlled (enough said).
