  • Hello there!

    Hi chums!

Just put a deposit down for a used Smart ForTwo. Picking it up on Wednesday, and can't wait. I'm from Ireland but living in Dundee, Scotland. My name is Mark, but I get called Scoobie due to loving comics and cartoons. I don't own a Subaru.

Unfortunately I've spotted a couple of glitches. The bhp on the one I bought says it's 84, but the sales sheet says 71. Plus the co2 emissions say 122 g/km, and it also says 112 g/km. This seems to matter because currently the road tax is £100 but on others it's £30.

I wonder if anyone could shed some light on it?

Sorry to start my intro with a question, but hopefully I'll make up for it with witty and enlightful stories of me and my Smart on our journeys together!

    Cheers,
    Mark. (Scoobs)

    Re: Hello there!

Sounds like you're about to pick up a lower model.
the 84bhp ones are the turbo models...and this is what you want, the 71bhps are non turbo and can be a little asthmatic
start asking some serious questions to the seller.

In retrospect, I suppose "supercalafragalisticexpialadocious" wasn't a great "safe word..."

Ps, if you want to chuck a link up to the advert, we can tear it apart for you

Hi Racing Snake, that's very much appreciated.

This is the link to the online ad, but there was no pics, it was emailed over to the dealer I talked to. It's getting transported over for test drive before I purchase it outright.

Below is the pic of the car:

You won't see what's on the paperwork given to me, but what it says on that is 84bhp. The ad says different. Plus the ad contradict itself a little bit with co2 emissions, but it could be a typo.

        Cheers for the great welcome!

          Re: Hello there!

Ah, ok, sorry I read it as you went for an 84 and they were selling you a 71.
that car is coming back as an 84, and has the brabus kit too.
yes, it will be in the higher tax bracket with higher emissions, but honestly... It'll be worth it.
£100 is not much in the grand scheme of things...
If it drives well, Get it bought

That's a really nice looking car - good spec and quite individual
