  • New Guy :)

    Evening Everyone

I am considering getting myself a Smart Fortwo so thought I should join up and find out a bit about them.

I test drove a 451 71bhp yesterday which seemed pretty nippy although ideally I will be looking at the 84bhp models.

    Cheers

    Sammo

      Hi Sammo

Are you buy buying a smart for economy? If so, take a close look at the real world mpg figures, you might be (unpleasantly) surprised.

        Hi

I am buying it for economy and I am aware the 84bhp is juicier than the others, but seeing as my current car struggles to do 25mpg I reckon its gonna be an improvement

            Hi Sammo

            Welcome.

Had my Fortwo 450 Cabrio for three weeks. It's very nippy if you put your foot down and very sedate if you feather the throttle. It's your choice. I love it and personally think it's extreemly quick. Did 80 on the motorway on the way home. Overtook an Audi A5 the other day and gave him two beeps as I passed. I still have not put any fuel in it.The fuel guage has been on two blobs for ages.

The 450 petrol is very different to the 451 petrol. The former is brilliant on fuel, the latter terrible.
