  • Hi from Cambridgeshire

Morning all, I am not yet a smart owner but have decided to let my C class merc go as I never use the back seat or boot and decided a smart is the way to go, my wife has a for four and loves it so I thought why not. I am thinking of a for two cabrio 700cc but dont know much about them so expect lots of dumb questions from me to make sure I buy the right car. Looking forward to hearing replies and owning a fun little car, Cheers for know, Gary

Welcome along Gary. I enjoyed your earlier thread and its honesty - you didn't shirk from what was being said.
You've decided to give fortwo a shot then? It's the only way really to find out if it's going to suit you - I hope it does.
Ask away with questions, I'll offer this upfront though - Adrimo's suggestion to go Brabus isn't a bad one. The Brabus models are earning themselves a reputation of being more durable re engines.
If you are tempted by the later model fortwo (451) then consider the 84hp. None of the woes of the 71hp MHD models, none of the power disappearing antics of the CDIs, a poor rep for fuel economy (though some get good figures) must drive their prices down. The only potential downside is a higher rate of VED (I think). On that subject, watch which model of 450 you may buy - the VED rates vary - quite dramatically.
Good luck, and don't be scared to ask - anything at all.
