  • My 4th Smart (Fortwo Passion CDi)

Well, I am not exactly a new member as I have been on here since 2003, when I bought a blue/black Pure Fortwo MK6, had it for years, and then followed by two roadsters, and then went smartless for around four years, desperately wanting to get my hands on the 451, and at last I have one.

I got a secondhand blue/silver Fortwo Passion CDi in really good condition, low mileage one owner, with satnav and panoramic roof with the niffy roller shutter blind.

I made my mind up I wanted a top model, either pulse or passion, as my pure MK6 although good, suffered from two things, poor quality grey seats that stained with rain water drips, and steel wheels which are just too springy on the fortwo and need the dampening effects of a good set of alloys, (sorted both these things at the time with replacements off Ebay), Anyway no need to do that now, as its a Passion Model I got, with lovely seats and alloys.

Anyway glad to be back in the smart fold. And this website has always been a great place for questions and more importantly, answers.

    Cheers Colin.

Ha ha, Yeh, the bodywork is in really good condition, well looked after, and with careful parking by the looks of it. I will have to be as careful.

I also got the paperwork through from from the DVLA today, to allow me to put my personal plates on it (had them on two year retention). So that's tomorrows job, to stick/screw my number plates on.

Sorted out my 451 auto-locking by disabling it today, I do not need this as living in the Scottish wilderness, all we get is sheep and deer on the road

Note that the key and button operations must be made at the exact same time. Took me a while to figure it out, so made the instructions more understandable below....

Turning Drive Lock On And Off

With the ignition off, and key in hand, while sitting in the car.

        On

        • [*=center]At the exact same time Press and hold the lock button on the centre console.
[*=center]While Pressing the lock button on the remote.

          Off
[*=center]At the exact same time Press and hold the unlock button on the centre console.
[*=center]While Pressing the unlock button on the remote.
