It'll never go round corners. The understeer will be horrific. Not because of the grip, but the 2 rear axles will always be pushing it straight. All in all a load of ill thought out fvcking rubbish then.
Nothing to do with diffs.
Try moving around a twin axle trailer by hand. Until you tip one axle off the ground, they're a nightmare.
Trucks raise their extra axle as soon as they can, and 8 wheelers steer 2 axles. Even trailers have steered axles. And the 6 wheel F1 had 2 steered axles. (The March never worked).
Shiny, shiny, you just love it. Give me proper engineering every time.

How can you tell from that pic that it doesn't have 2 steered axles?
Perhaps it has passive steering in the middle axle?
Even in the extremely unlikely event of it possessing such, the inherent castor will still cause it to push the nose wide. Christ, fortwos understeer badly enough with just 2 axles!

really?? mine went round corners soooo well that the yaw sensor would cause the engine to cut power - no understeer whatsoever!! did get a bit of oversteer a few times though which was scarier than going sideways in my vx220!
I think Thrumbleux may have just missed the point a tad....
Yeah, the lift-off oversteer is pretty terrifying in the Smart, but that is a reminder to not drive them too hard! On the earlier models, you can left foot brake and execute four wheel drifts. The LHD original Smart was easily the best from a handling point of view.
The VX220 is quite hard to maintain oversteer, with its skinny front tyres. They need a proper geo setup to sort them out!
