They said it could not be done, but I did it. Removed the paint and made the car look much better

Definitely looks better without the black wheels. You have done first class job there.

Before it starts to corrode again. Brabus wheels are notorious for corrosion.

Powder coat them - cures the corrosion issue.

how did you remove all the paint???

did you polish them up with anything special???

not a fan of powder coating BRAB wheels, they lose the awesome look of the diamond polished material

Looks like the black paint did a good job of protecting them!

I would at least get a clear coat on them to protect them.

I first removed all the paint with paint remover, then I got rid of the diamond cut shine, I prefer the semi-shine. Obviously I had to do this with sandpaper (for aluminium) I started a bit rough up to 1500. The reason I did not give it a powder coat or laquer, is that you have to keep taking them to someone to maintain them, and this to me is a expensive process. Since I only drive the car once in a while as it is basically my toy After I drive the car I just clean the rims, and maybe once a month I polish them with autosol.

i have been looking at diamond polishing pads that fit on an orbital polisher.

the lacquer on my wheels is awful and i want to remove it, polish it all up back to what they should be and maybe re-coat them..

                      what remover did you use??

Well.... I left the paint remover on the rims for 2 days, and it removed the paint and some laquer. Now, the laquer is the problem as it is a pain to remove. But with the sandpaper I managed to remove it. Took a lot of patience, but I did it. Basically you have to ruin the rims to make them nice. Like I said before, I like the semi-shine look throughout, low maintenance.
It is true the paint protected the rims, but I did find some ugly scratches, but I managed to remove them witha rough sand paper (emery cloth).
I did not find any diamond polishing pads, so I decided to work like this.
Basically to buy a new set of rims, it would have cost me a lot of money and all this maybe cost me only about €60euros for all four rims.
As I live in Malta, the car was imported with the rims painted, but when I went to buy the car, it was in such good condition, that I could not careless about this small job.
Regarding corrosion, since I dont drive it much, I should not have a problem with that, I just always need some autosol around
