Hey! Well I thought it was about time to introduce my Smart...It needs a bit of a tidy up here and there and new bits and bobs to put my own personal stamp on it...but here it is at the moment...plain and simple

Re: My Smart 2002 Pulse
Thanks
It has a few wee nicks here and there which need a wee bit of attention but nothing too damning. I was actually amazed that the interior has stayed in such good shape seeing as its an oldie, but given the low mileage that's probably why. I really like the colour and the matching interior.
Just have to look into what modifications I can do without losing the genuine look of it. Is there such a thing as sporty but plain?

remap and airfilter are the obvious "hidden" ones
If you're a bit of a girl racer, then upgrade the brake discs and pads and maybe braided hoses to help you stop better!!.... people will say replace the wheels, and ordinarily I'd agree (go wider), but you would of course lose the 'standard' look of the car.
Ours is completely standard, not even a remap on it (which is very unusual for us! )

The wheels were the first thing I was looking at changing but like you say it'd take away the standard look...but funkier wheels are kind of a necessity aren't they hmmmmmmm...decisions, decisions

Re: My Smart 2002 Pulse
Ooooo love the colour, especially on the interior.
If it were me, with the wheels I would do the following:
- Pick up cheap alloy rims with no deep scratches but manky looking from a scrapper for a cheap price
- Clean them off with degreaser and a wire brush, then get them powder coated in a gold shiny lacquer. Or you could get them electroplated thickly.
- Get your tyres fitted to the rims and enjoy.
That will end up the same price, as a set of good condition chrome effect alloys. Gold ones are rare second hand and a fortune brand new.
