Others have fit the camera in the same place, but I hear it's not a great location for it as it gets covered in dirt too easily (maybe why the OP cleaned his in the rain today!?)

I have no idea about camera set up as I brought the car like it lol and I find that if you rub your thumb over it every few days its clear but I don't let the car get that dirty anyway lol.
