Edit: I'm with JC, I've quite often found I can't rep people and have to 'spread it around' first. A timer of so much rep a day or something would be better.

it would (and has been) abused in the past... it's almost guaranteed to happen again.
We will however mull it over amongst us (the admin team).

I think the rep system works fairly well here. Any changes would result in the rep system simply becoming a means where the same people award each other points day in day out for every morsel of drivel they post.

There is just as much a case for abandoning the rep system altogether.
