Bad language filter and 18 plus zone

The admin team have listened to your feedback and have made some changes to the forum system software.

I have set the system to make the bad language filter optional per user.

I could not find a way to enable it as default, so if you want to keep the ****'s then please click HERE, and enable the filter at the bottom.

I have also set up an over 18s zone for those of you that wish to post material of an adult nature.

In order to access and post in this zone you will need to join the 18 plus group. This can be done via your User CP HERE

The site rules are being adjusted as we speak to cover the use of the 18 plus zone, but broadly, the rules concerning posting content of an adult nature and swearing are lifted FOR THE 18 plus zone ONLY!

USERS POSTING INAPPROPRIATE MATERIAL IN ANY OTHER AREA OF THE SITE, OR LINKING TO CONTENT IN THE 18 plus zone WILL RECIEVE A TWO POINT INFRACTION.

Some instructions on where to find this 18 plus group would be good, cos I can't find it in the list of social groups, or in the User CP.

Edit: never mind, found it under Group Memberships, not Social Groups... duh... obvious really.

Well. Censor is what it does... Perhaps a sensor is what's used to censor the words.

Also, just asking... What are the rules governing posting on the 18 plus forum? Do they still have to be marked NSFW if they are? I assume the defamatory/pornographic/offensive rules still apply?

NSFW is taken as a given in the 18 plus zone I would have thought.

Abusive, defamatory, harassment, illegal, etc are still not allowed, and will be dealt with under usual moderation principles.

The zone may be withdrawn if the use is of such a nature that the site is brought into disrepute.

It's up to you people!!!

What's concerning is there may be people who do not wish to sign up to this zone, but should anyone then say anything offensive/defamatory/harassing about that person in the 18 plus zone, the person it's being said about will never know.

Click the big smartManiacs logo at the top and all will be revealed
