This forum requires that you wait 10 seconds between searches. Please try again in 8 seconds.

Why is this? Some of us have busy lives and cant wait 10secs between searches. All those 10secs add up, they could make, say, 140secs a day.

I keep pressing the New Posts thing, then remember I wanted the Quick Links, Todays Posts thing. I know i'm a dizzy queen, but now we've got 50Mb broadbean from Mr Bransons mob I get this error message more and more. I did once try and get it to say This forum requires that you wait 10 seconds between searches. Please try again in 10 seconds. But the best I got was 9 seconds.

Is there something you dont quite understand? It all seems perfectly clear to me. This forum has this 10 second rule thing, and it annoys me and so i've asked why its there.

I'm guessing smartski is russian (get it ) so i've translated

It's to slow down the nutter (no that's not you) that want's to press it every 1/2 second so you can't take too much of the servers resources for yourself I would think?.
To smooth out the blips that would cause to a controllable level.
That nutter could be a bot of some sort which could drag the system down to a crawl perhaps.

wait ten seconds for what? ten seconds seems a reasonable wait for most things. you are all
