  • Memory error message

Logged in on http://smartmaniacs.co.uk/forums and clicked on private messages link in top right of screen and got a blank screen showing just this message:

Fatal error: Out of memory (allocated 524288) (tried to allocate 311296 bytes) in /home/smartman/public_html/forums/private.php on line 548

    12:40 13-05-09:
Server response is very slow right now and pages take an age to load. Kinda reminds me of the old dial-up days watching your page being rendered bit by bit for 2-3 minutes lol

    Regards
    Richard

Sticking it on a server with 3TB of RAM is avoiding the underlying problem don't you think

Yes, it is. But if it "works", as my IT department says, woo hoo

I thought we had solved this issue!

Can anyone recommend a decent host with VPS hosting?

There has been a huge spike in memory usage tonight, I have rebooted the server and asked for some information on which processes were consuming the RAM.
