Having an IQ over 50, not being under 12 years old and not being American, I don't get or like Halloween. We shouldn't give those teenage scrotes permission to wreak havoc on the neighbourhood. Usually at least you are safe your house from these litte c***s.
If kids came to your door on any other day and asked for money or they'd throw an egg at your house/car, you'd phone the police.

Hard for me to agree with Evil as usually he is so withdrawn and introvert (with a brilliant website though) have to agree with him here. What is it about halloween. Trick and treat has nothing to do with us. It is American nonsense. The proper festival is Samhain which is the ancient Celtic festival of summers end and nothing to do with bags of sweets and throwing eggs at people. We should boycott it and not encourage all this trash. If anybody comes round my place demanding treats they will be treated with bowls of boiling oil or porrridge on their heads.

Am I missing something? can anybody tell why me we're being subjected to a barrage of fireworks on Halloween?It sounds like bonfire night outside and it's been going on since 5 tonite!

Sounds like you're all being subject to a bunch of raving American tourists wrecking havoc on your silent town. Why in the world would so many Tourists be there in England doing the silly “Trick or Treat” thing, and eating lots of Curry stuff when they could be in the States having pumkin pie? Don't they know tourist season is over and Brits don't like Pumkin Pie?:bat::eek:

You guys are lucky it's been going on out here for over a month! Now we have Dia de los Muertos ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Day_of_the_Dead ) today, then Thanksgiving at the end of the month and Christmas after that! non stop tat in all the shops but there are pecan pie pancakes at ihop and pumpkin spice lattes at starbucks

Yeah that one we managed to avoid by being in the UK! We fly out to the UK again on Thanksgiving but no doubt will be served Turkey on the plane
