Double din fitting

ok I got my forfour adaptor last week and tried to fit it and I came a cropper because it wont fit in the pics it looks like the top two plastic bits should be on the top sides this is where it is on the single adaptor help would be much appreciated as I jus want it fitted :frown:

the green is where it should be an circled in yellow is where it needs to be screwed on to



The bottom part fits fine sorry about the blurry pic

Is the frame itself the right size for the hole?

If it is, maybe the tabs fix up underneath the dash? Perhaps as a better support point for what would be a heavier headunit

yeah fits perfectly in the space an the double din stereo fits perfectly too its just the top tabs they wont slide up under the fabric coz theres nowhere for it to go an I can cut them off coz the I will have no support holding the fascia and double din in place

well I defo think I have thats how it fits to the one on berlin tuning website the thin part of the fascia is at the bottom if you take a look at the pic on the top right

Yeah certainly looks that way round. May be worth seeing if it will, I would imagine it's only supposed to fit one way round though. No harm in trying.

Just another thought, have you tried reassembling the dash? It could be that the top bit locates into the surround that goes over it or is held in place by it?

Is it the right fascia? Are you sure it's not a 451 fascia?

no its for the Merc A class and I spoke to Steffen at Berlin tuning he has the exact same one in his forfour an I spoke to him the day he said it defo fits but I have seen ones for the 451 an the tabs are on the top sides

head on over to forfourowner.com/forum. Evilution has down a 'how to' for the new 451 fascia to fit a 454. he is probably the guy to contact on fitting the double din fascia.

The A class fascia will probably fit but not using the correct fixings.
Looking at the picture in looks as though the tabs are supposed to slot up under the dash and behind the button bank.
It won't be as secure as the proper one.
Follow the link above and compare.

i have emailed them to see if comes with the fitting plate as its german i dont no what it says, but not had no reply yet.
