I was hearing a whistle each time I pressed the accelerator while I was driving home last night and I couldn't work out where it was from. That was until I turned the radio off and it stopped and realised it was coming from the speakers. A couple of day before when I was breaking it interfered with the radio signal. Does anyone have any ideas what is causing it?

    Re: whistle

you're picking up electrical noise from either a poor/damaged aerial shield cable or via the power in.
I'd check the cable 1st at both ends visually, check it's fully installed into the radio end and then with a meter.

It is prob the radio wire as it never seems to hold properly. I prefer the old male, female slot in ones I had on my old radios.

Do you mean behind the radio where it all connects?

both really, check the plug is fully in at the rear and then you may need to get at the aerial base to check that too

              Re: whistle

              Hi,

I also get a noise when I listen on A.M. (sport etc). If I have my foot on the brake when stationary there is a background whirring. I am pretty sure it is the hillstart assist since it doesn't happen while braking on the move and stops a split second after I take my foot off the brake.

              Pete
