  • HU aerial connection problem

    Hi all,

I have an annoying problem on my girlfriends smart (2002 passion) which I cannot seem to solve…

I have replaced the standard head unit with a Kenwood item from her previous car, when I fitted this I noticed the aerial connection on the HU was a male connection, the OE aerial lead is also a male connection therefore I have been scouring the internet for a female-female aerial adaptor to allow the aerial to be fitted but so far to no avail, any advice?

    Thanks

Can you post pics of the HU and Aerial lead? it'll be easier to see what you mean.

      Re: HU aerial connection problem

it's either a DIN or an ISO connection

these are both the 'male' plugs (well the bottom is actually an ISO/DIN adaptor)

Maybe your head unit has a flying socket attached ?, instead of a chassis socket?

Hmm maybe it doest have an additional lead attached - will check this

The aerial lead looks like your first picture but on the back of the HU it also has a prong sticking out (male)
