  • led festoons etc.....the truth please.

If replacing the standard bulbs in the 450 smart for led type am i gonna come accross any issues at all.
I have heard of people having problems with interior lights staying on (fully on) or even as a dim glow.
Is this only due to some cheaper leds on the market or is an all round prob wiv leds.
If ther are better makes let us know.

As ever, many thanks for any responses to this.

I have that with any LED's inside, but you won't notice it at all.

I've got leds in the interior lamp, ambient footwell lighting, number plate lights, reverse light, side lights. Makes for a much, much cleaner look on the back if you also add silver indicator lamps rather than the orange ones to get rid of the fried egg look.

I tend to buy mine from autobulbs direct purely cos I tend to place a fair few orders with them and just tag them on, they seem to last a fair while too, not had one of them break on me yet. This is in a 451 though.

In general you shouldn't have a problem. However, the interior lamp will glow dimly even when switched off - see this page for why:

You might also encounter difficulties if you replace the indicator lamps with LEDs, as I believe the current drawn by the lamps determines the speed at which the indicators flash - hence why indicators flash rapidly if one of the indicators has popped ...

      Cheers

What is the legality of all these LED's actually? Is it okay to retrofit them? As I see it, as long as they're the right colour (obviously not blue on front like every other saxo and clio) so as they're not confused with emergency services, are they okay to use?
