  • replacement headunit cage secure??????

Hi people gonna keep this short.

    Basically i got a 450 smart 07plate.
Want to fit my alpine in ther but the prob is ther SEEMS to be no way to fold any tabs down to secure metal frame that holds the headunit in place.

Been on evilution and it says rivetting is an option.

Dont mind this just want to know how other people have delt with this issue

As ever many thanks for any reply.

I made a small hole on the bottom plastic plate, circa 2-3mm in diameter and put small screw with flat countersunk screw and corresponding nut under the plastic (upper side of the drawer). Screw is about 8mm long so it does not protrude a lot in the drawer space. I used the hole in the middle lower tab ("U" shaped) and found that only one screw is more than enough to hold HU in place, even on the most shitty streets in Europe, like those we have here
Also I had no problem inserting my Alpine into the cage, the screw head in only a fraction of millimeter above the cage surface, so it barely scratches the HU.

I hope you can understand what I'm trying to explain, because English is not my native language.
