Single din HU with pop-out screen WARNING!

Hi.

Im just gonna give out a warning to those of you that plans to put in single din headunit with flipout screen.

In many cases the when the screen comes out, it will hit and be blocked by the windscreen wiper switch. This is in a ForTwo 450. Had this problem and seen this problem on several 450's with pioneer HU.

The windshieldwiper switch is about 4-5 mm to long for these players and have to sanded down for the screen to move freely up and down.

Lol, I had plans of using my flip out from my existing car into the smart, realised once I picked it up that the screen wouldn't make it!
I only wanted it because it had iPod control and Bluetooth, and of course I wanted an excuse to buy a fancy double din for the family car.

I'm sure all members know this already. But there is a harness available that allows aux input via a 3.5mm plug. It slots into the cd changer slot in the back, and works well!

I think Gav had one in Rhino and it was fine??!!

did help a bit, but the screen stil touched the switch.

I think the dash on a lhd is angled a lot more than the rhd, that, and the bigger flip out wide screens are clearly wider too!
