Door Speaker wire routing?

I'm thinking aboout putting some door speakers in my '04 Brabus 4/2 cabrio.
Fitting looks easy enough but I'm not sure about the best way to get the wires to the headunit...
Evilution talks about going under the car and up through the battery tray but that seems a lot of faff to me.
Has anyone found an easier way?

i have put door speakers in door , using plastic pockets from a left- hand smart that i found on ebay
replacing my net pockets , used the plastic trim off door nets to finish off.
covered door cards & plastic pockets with grey leatherette.
put wire through door plastic [ between door hinges ] that holds wires from electric windows , took of front panel & put
wire through a rubber grommet to under dashboard to radio

i had done it in my fortwo, havent got a pic handy sorry

but took the outer door skin off and used a hot gas knive to cut the circle out, once it was done and screwed in you could turn the base right up without any rattles, also bought this - http://www.futureshop.co.uk/qed-qont...r-m-p-516.html for the speaker cable so you could put it through the wiring that goes through the door (between the hinges)

Phew, done it!
As suggested, I routed the wires through the existing door guides.
Then had to take off the front panel and found a large grommet behind the nearside headlight. Took out the light to gain access and pushed a wire through from inside the car. Pulled the speaker wires throgh and the jobs a good 'un.

lol, a faff maybe but I will always cut every conceivable corner to make a job easier. There are harder ways to do it (like the way you eventually did). My way I didn't even have to take the front panels off.
